Spinning Glass -- a poem by Tiffany Cook

Shameless hatred,
biting at the bit.
Cannot turn away,
to ignore the mindless shit.

Reason ran to hide,
logic took for dead;
peace was overthrown,
when I looked inside my head.

Mangled mess of horror
blood, liquor, drugs, and fear.
The tremor swept around
to break another tear.

Face away from the light -
but reach my hand behind.
grasp at every straw
to lock up what’s inside.

Flesh touched with yours,
shaking at the switch.
Your tell me its okay -
life is just a bitch.
